HighTechXL-alumni Mint Solutions has partnered with the Westfriesgasthuis. In February, the hospital will start to implement Mint Solutions MedEye in its cardiology department.
According to Mint Solutions, MedEye’s maker , there is an error committed in 1 in 5 times medication is administered to a patient. Either the time of serving a medicine or the proper dosage seem to go wrong.
The MedEye is a scanning device that checks whether the medication that is given to a patient is equal to what the doctor has perscribed.
The device can be set up next to the hospital bed which allows a nurse to check whether the medication suits the patients needs. If not, the device will notice this and sound an alarm.
In an earlier collaboration between Mint Solutions and the Deventer Hospital, up to 3 mistakes each day were filtered out.
