EFFECT Photonics, a spin-off from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e, (the Netherlands), is one of the winners of the Deep Tech Programme 2020. The company develops optical communication products based on dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) System-on-Chip technology.

TechTour Deep Tech Programme

The spin-off was 1 of 50 participants in the Deep Tech TechTour Programme 2020. On November 24, 26, and 27, EFFECT Photonics presented their System-on-Chip to the jury. The company scored as one of the very best. EFFECT Photonics now has the opportunity to participate in the World Tour.

EFFECT Photonics

The company focuses on developing DWDM System-on-Chip technology. This chip is faster and smaller than standard chips. EFFECT Photonics uses its technology to meet the increasing demand for bandwidth between data centers and mobile masts. The most important technology in the DWDM system is the integration of all photonic components within a single chip. Another major advantage of these chips is that they can be manufactured in large quantities at a low cost.

World Tour

Winners of the various TechTour Programmes will be invited to sessions with investors from Europe, the United States and West Africa during the World Tour. The Tour is scheduled to take place in March 2021.

TechTour brings together entrepreneurs and investors across 3 sectors: Health tech, digital, and sustainability. TechTour is committed to accelerating innovation; they do this with an online community and 25 annual events.
