From taste research, product research, and in-company panel training to expertise on European and Dutch laws and regulations, NovaBite, which opened yesterday at Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo, has it all. Delegate Jasper Kuntzelaers performed the official opening yesterday. NovaBite Venlo is collaborating with Maastricht University.
The new Brightlands NovaBite facility contains facilities in the field of sensory research, including sensory booths where taste tests can be carried out, a room for focus groups with observation space, and a demo kitchen where cooking can be done with new, innovative products and ingredients. In addition, Brightlands NovaBite has its own consumer panel with diverse backgrounds and personality traits for testing products or concepts.
According to Ingrid Vermeer, CEO of Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo, Brightlands NovaBite is a valuable addition to the activities on campus, its residents, and the region. “Brightlands NovaBite is a wonderful new center that contributes to accelerating the development and successful marketing of improved, healthier and more sustainable food products and concepts.”
Jasper Kuntzelaers calls NovaBite a project that not only puts the region on the map regarding agri-food innovation but also demonstrates how the province is leading the way in integrating sustainability into all our developments. “Given today’s societal challenges, it is critical that forward-thinking, creative entrepreneurs are given the space they need to bring tomorrow’s solutions to market. In that regard, NovaBite functions as a crucial hub where talent, entrepreneurship, and research come together to strengthen our region.”
Kokkerelli
During the opening, it was also announced that NovaBite and campus resident Kokkerelli are forming a long-term partnership. According to those involved, Kokkerelli’s activities will help accelerate the transition to healthy youth.
