Every industry has its key events. For the construction and real estate industry, this is to become BIM-World, which has been established in the market since 2016. This year, the event format offers two highlights. The BIM Town, a marketplace for products and innovations, and next to that the Innovation World Cup Series, a platform that has been bringing technology companies together with start-ups for over 14 years.
The creator of the Innovation World Cup Series and the BIM World is Navispace from Herrsching near Munich. As early as 2016, the company recognized that BIM, which incidentally means Building Innovation Modeling, has a lot of innovative potentials. And this needs to be tapped. With the Innovation World Cup Series, Navispace already has a successful event concept ready.
Therefore it is almost logical that the Innovation World Cup Series will now be held at the BIM World at the ICM in Munich. Those interested should make a note of 27 and 28 November 2018. Innovators for digitization in the construction and real estate industry from all over Europe will present their solutions there. And that promises to be interesting.
Competition for innovators
It will be particularly interesting for tech professionals from all over the world: they can submit their innovations to the IOT/WT Innovation World Cup and have the opportunity to participate in an innovation ecosystem and make contacts. In addition, their solutions are tested for practical suitability and potential users are convinced. The SME 4.0 Competence Center Planning and Construction provides test fields for implementation under realistic boundary conditions. The Fraunhofer Institute is responsible for coordination. The finalists will receive the special “BIM/Smart Construction Award”, which will be presented at BIM-World. This is preceded by a live pitch during the event.
Huge Market
But the market is also tempting. BIM’s building data modelingĀ is a planning method in the building industry. It is about the planning, execution, and management of buildings with the help of software. Numerous construction companies in Germany already rely on this, as Statista has found out. Building data modeling is, therefore, becoming increasingly popular, as can be seen from sales. Leading manufacturers such as Aconex, Autodex, Nmetschek and Trimble generated USD 2.3 billion in 2015. The EMEA region in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa accounted for 34 percent. The forecasts are positive. Analysts estimate the market volume at 11.5 billion US dollars for 2022. So in November during BIM-World, a lot of innovative potential in building data modeling comes together.
