The Groninger Ondernemingsprijs 2022, an entrepreneurial award, has been won by software company Klippa. CEO Yeelen Knegtering received the prize from Queen’s Commissioner René Paas during the finals, the company reported in a press release. The scale-up aims to digitize and automate cumbersome document flows using modern technologies such as machine learning and OCR. These include software for improving administrative processes, scanning receipts and invoices, claims processing, identity validation and data extraction.
Recognition
Knegtering is pleased with the Enterprise Award. He sees the award as recognition for Klippa’s employees and for the development the company has gone through, from startup to international organization with offices in 3 different countries and more than 70 employees.
“Our employees make the company. This award is a huge appreciation for the energy and commitment they show every day. In addition, I hope that more and more people know how to find their way to us. After all, we still have a number of positions to fill to continue our growth next year!”
International market
With the choice of Klippa, the Enterprise Award went to a young ICT company. “The jury admires Klippa for the successful application of Artificial Intelligence, the highly motivated and diverse international team and the impressive growth figures,” jury chairman IJzebrand Rijzebol said.
The future
The new award underlines the development that Klippa has gone through. Based in Groningen, the company has grown into a party that now helps more than 1,000 companies at home and abroad to digitize and automate document flows.
If it’s up to Knegtering, it won’t stop there: “We have always been an international company. That is why we are already active in more than 35 countries. This international orientation allows us to realize our growth, because the volume of documents at internationally operating companies is enormous. And they can deposit those volumes with us in all the countries where they operate.”
