NXP has signed an agreement for the establishment of the NXP China Applications Development Center for Auto Electronics. This is the first step towards a development center in the Chinese city of Chongqing. The center will help China’s domestic automobile manufacturers quickly acquire the necessary knowledge and expertise to build NXP electronic control units with electronics.
“Over the past 30 years, NXP has very successfully established a deep cooperation with China’s auto industry,” said Kurt Sievers, executive vice president and general manager of NXP Automotive. “As the world’s leading supplier of automotive semiconductor solutions, NXP trusts that through the establishment of the new Applications Development Center, we can introduce cutting-edge technology for Chongqing, cultivate innovative personnel and promote the common development of the regional industry ecosystem. Looking to the future, the Applications Center will help China’s wider auto industry contribute to the development of intelligent, safe and secure mobility.”
Chongqing is a city with more than 30 million inhabitants in the east of China, where most of the Chinese automotive industry is located. The new development center means at least fifteen years of cooperation, hiring 100 team members and joint investments to stimulate the growth of the industry. The Application Center is the first R&D organization in Chongqing focused on automotive semiconductors.
