Morphotonics, just a decade old, is showing with a fresh Series B funding round that its mission to take global display technology to the next level is resonating. New investors 3M and the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) join existing investor Innovation Industries for a more than $10 million funding round. A second investment is expected by the end of the year. By harnessing the potential of 3D displays, making Augmented Reality (AR) smartglasses accessible to all, and providing energy-efficient solutions for mobile devices, Morphotonics is poised to fundamentally change how we interact with screens.
As digital interactions become more and more a part of everyday life, the demand for high-quality visual experiences is growing rapidly. Morphotonics is committed to developing display technology that not only enhances visual quality, but also optimizes energy efficiency. As the global leader in large-scale nanoimprint technology, Morphotonics is at the forefront of this transformation with its Roll-to-Plate (R2P) nanoimprint technology and equipment.
We are on the eve of major growth for applications such as glasses-free 3D displays and Smart AR glasses. With this new funding, we strengthen our market and technical leadership position and further expand our impact in the consumer electronics and display markets.
Jan Matthijs ter Meulen, co-founder and CEO Morphotonics
This financing will enable the company to scale its operations and supply chain, expand its global customer base – especially in Asia – and further position fully automated, large-scale nanoimprinting as the standard in display optics manufacturing.
For BOM, this investment adds to the excellent mechanical engineering and manufacturing expertise of this region, supporting our mission to further expand these core competencies of North Brabant and the Netherlands.
Jurgen van Eck, Sr. Investment Manager BOM
