The winning design DOK Tool by health innovator Marleen van Bergeijk – a graduate industrial designer from the Eindhoven University of Technology – is a physical and visual communication tool that places the doctor’s interview in the child’s experience. The three participants (medical doctor, parent, and child) jointly build the agenda of the conversation with physical coins. A clever table mat registers the conversation and converts it into an understandable visual timeline that is printed and the child can take home.
The award consists of €2,500, three months of technical support by ASML in marketing the design, and financial, legal, tax, and business advice from various project partners.
Smart Design to Market is a postgraduate accelerator program for talented graduate HBO and WO designers. With the theme ‘Designed around you’, ASML and other companies from the Brainport region support the talents in accelerating their design careers for one year. During Dutch Design Week, seven top design talents from Smart Design to Market present their innovative concepts to the public. The results can be seen in the Brabant Living Lab on the Ketelhuisplein.
