Kadans Science Partner has bought Meulensteen Art Center on TU Eindhoven Campus. Kadans will redevelop the building into the Meulensteen House of Robotics. It will be a multi-tenant building specially designed for robotics start-ups. After the redevelopment, start-ups will be able to work together and test their new innovations in robotics, while also maintaining a relevant link with the Eindhoven University of Technology.
The building will be Kadans Science Partner’s second building on the TU/e Campus. Kennispoort, on the other side of the campus, was sold to Kadans earlier this year. The acquisition of Meulensteen lies in the strategy of Kadans to provide accommodation for knowledge-intensive businesses on university campuses.
After the redevelopment, the ground floor will exist of four workshops that will be leased individually. The tenant of the second floor is already known: Eindhoven Medical Robotics, founded by Maarten Steinbuch and Anupam Nayak.
Kadans Science Partner focuses on the successful exploitation of multi-tenant buildings on and around science parks and university campuses. “There is an increasing need for suitable real estate solutions for both science and business”, the company says. In July 2017, Kadans formed a joint venture with Oaktree Capital Management. Kadans already has positions in Wageningen, Nijmegen, Utrecht, Breda, Eindhoven and Helmond. At this moment, Kadans’ portfolio includes over 220 tenants in 15 buildings and 8 key sectors.
