There are countless events and lectures organized for innovation professionals every year. Can’t see the forest for the trees anymore? Or do you need some inspiration? Good news! Every month, IO provides you with an overview of exciting events for that period. Whether you are interested in artificial intelligence, sustainability, or healthcare, there is something for everyone. We group them by region. 

Northern Netherlands

  1. Innovation Day – 14th of June, Groningen
    Successful innovation requires breakthrough technologies that can solve major problems. These technologies often emerge from academic research labs. Innovation Day, organized by RUG Ventures and VentureLab North, provides a unique platform for innovators from the RUG and UMCG to showcase their work to investors. This year’s focus is on Deep Technologies.
  2. New Energy Forum – 20th of June, Groningen
    This year’s New Energy Forum is all about inspiring initiatives in the energy and mobility transition that show a good deal of guts. Guts to take risks and find answers. During this free festival, together we seek the answers to questions around ‘green’ money making, sustainable mobility, sustainability, a circular economy and training professionals for jobs in the technology of the future.
  3. IT Empowerment Event – 3rd of July, Haren
    Samenwerking Rijk Noord is organizing the IT Empowerment Event for the first time on the 3rd of July. The event is primarily aimed at women already working in ICT and final-year mbo, hbo and wo students. During the event there will be a lot of attention for professional subjects as well as for the extra qualities that women bring to ICT teams. The keynote will be given by Marloes Pomp; the vice president of the European AI Forum.

Eastern Netherlands

  1. Grand Finals: Nature based future challenge – 11th of June, Wageningen
    Last year, Wageningen University & Research invited students from around the world to develop an innovative, nature-based perspective for one of the most climate-vulnerable regions in the world, the Bangladesh delta region. After two selection rounds, eleven teams remain in the game. What are their ideas? And who will win the €9000 award? Find out on the 11th of June!
  2. Hackathon: AI in education – 12, 13 and 14th of June, Enschede
    Do you want to improve the quality of primary, secondary, vocational and/or higher education with smart technology? Do you want to make learning more personal and better? Do you want to learn how to use AI in education? Then join the hackathon AI. There is a lot going on around AI in education, for example ChatGPT. To participate in this hackathon, knowledge of artificial intelligence is a plus, but not required: there are also experts (Jedi’s) walking around to support teams.

Southern Netherlands

  1. High Tech Ontdekkingsroute – 8th of June, Eindhoven
    Get a glimpse of the region’s high-tech kitchen during the High Tech Discovery Route. On Saturday, 8 June, several tech companies will open their doors. See, experience, and witness how technology contributes to our everyday life
  2. Health Innovation Euregion – 25th of June, Maastricht
    Nearly everyone who has ever attempted to implement a great idea will have faced a series of obstacles at some point. In fact, these challenges are part and parcel of life as an entrepreneur. Health Innovation Euregion 2024 loves bringing together fledgling entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial scientists, and established SMEs in the Euregion.
  3. The Gerard & Anton Awards – 3th of July, Eindhoven
    Every year, Innovation Origins spotlights ten startups from the Brainport region. These are ten innovative start-ups of which we expect great things in the coming year. For each of these start-ups a Gerard & Anton Award is waiting: not only as a reward for the recent development, but especially as an incentive to go even further. The previous nine editions show that this helps: the success rate of the former winners is above average.

Western Netherlands

  1. Greentech Amsterdam – 11, 12 and 13th of June, Amsterdam
    The #1 horticulture technology platform in the Netherlands, where industry professionals from all over the world come together to connect, network, share knowledge and do business. The event promises to offer visitors a complete overview of the products and services of the world’s leading companies and innovators.
  2. The Next Web Conference – 19 and 20th of June, Amsterdam
    At TNW Conference, technology is the beating heart of the event. It’s the events mission to inform and connect tech with present and future challenges. Join forces with international industry leaders, policy makers, startups and investors to come together and build towards a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive future.
  3. TechTalk XL: Cell & Gene Therapies – 25th of June, Leiden
    The event will focus on the latest advancements in Cell and Gene therapies. The session will feature keynotes and discussions with top experts, offering insights into recent innovations. As part of the event, attendees can join a guided tour of the Necstgen facility. This tour will give a firsthand look at where research and development in these therapies are taking place, offering a practical understanding of the field.
