Greg Shapiro, the American standup comedian and writer, will be leading next Sunday’s Expat Top10 event. The ceremony will take place at the start of the International Festival. Other parts of the festival are the I Am Not A Tourist Fair and the Expat Spouses Career Event.
Shapiro is best known in the Netherlands for his work for the Boom Chicago theatre in Amsterdam, and a couple of solo shows. He is no stranger to Eindhoven: two years ago he led Quiz Night XL during Dutch Technology Week. Mayor Rob Gijzel will address the winners. The ceremony begins at 11 am in the VDMA to the Vestdijk.
The jury of E52’s Expat top 10 – led by Alderman Staff Depla – based its decisions on a list of more than 50 expats who were nominated for the election. The ten winners have, according to the jury contributed a lot to the Eindhoven society. Because of an invention, an individual performance, a critical role in a company, the impact of their startup or simply because they are socially significant. In short, the people for whom Eindhoven may be grateful.
The ceremony is free, but registration in advance is required. Just click on this link.

The Expat Top-10 came about through a collaboration between the High Tech Campus, Brainport Development, ASML, TU/e, Rabobank Eindhoven-Veldhoven, Eindhoven365, Holland Expatcenter and E52. It is meant to be a tribute to the people who moved in, stood out and helped bring Eindhoven to where it is now.
