Software and videogame developer Epic Games is set to arrive in Eindhoven as it partners with 3EALITY, the soon-to-open innovation hub of the High Tech Campus Eindhoven (HTCE). As the market for spatial computing and virtual reality applications grows, the Brainport region attracts one of the industry’s leading players.

Epic Games is one of the world’s leading interactive entertainment companies. Mostly known for the popular video game Fortnite, the company also developed Unreal Engine, an open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool for photoreal visuals and immersive experiences. It serves film and TV, architecture, automotive, and manufacturing industries.

A hub for immersive technologies

3EALITY is HTCE’s hub dedicated to immersive technologies and spatial computing. The hotspot will support partners and residents in showcasing business solutions and hosting and organizing events. The collaborative hub will open in the second quarter of 2024 and will be located on the ground floor and underground in HTC 37, a former building of Philips Research.

Philipp Werle, HTCE business developer emerging tech: “The market for spatial computing and immersive technologies is expected to grow very fast in the next few years. HTCE already has quite an ecosystem in the enabling layers of this development. With 3EALITY, we continue to grow the software and interaction layer as well. By joining forces with Epic Games, we will educate the market, attract new target groups and talent, grow our ecosystem, and become a hotspot for immersive tech. These kinds of collaborations will help us realize that ambition.”

Rob Harrison, Business Development Director – Enterprise at Epic Games: “Epic Games is delighted to support High Tech Campus Eindhoven in bringing the 3EALITY innovation hub to life. We look forward to seeing how this facility will help to inspire a generation of creative talent in Eindhoven and further afield.”
