EIT Digital opens an innovation centre in the building of its partner Centre for Mathematics & Informatics (CWI) at the Science Park in Amsterdam. Until now, EIT only had an office in Eindhoven within the Netherlands. The Amsterdam branch office focuses on finTech.

“It is very important for the Dutch knowledge economy to invest well in digital affairs”, says Patrick Essers, Director of EIT Digital Netherlands. Together with our partners, we want to develop new financial products and services based on technologies such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security. At the same time, we are going to help European FinTech scaleups from Amsterdam to expand their markets and attract international capital.

The opening of the new location is on 2 November. EIT Digital is a European innovation and education organisation. The aim is to improve economic growth and quality of life in Europe through digital technological innovation and education. This is done through integration of education, research and entrepreneurship and pan-European cooperation with 130 European organisations, SMEs, start-ups, universities and research institutes.
