Ryan Abaji was born in Aleppo, Syria. He has been in the Netherlands for two and a half years now. As an intern for E52 he is exploring life as a journalist. This is his first story.
They came from all around the world, most of them because of wars or other disasters in their own country. We call them refugees, because they have been fleeing for something. But all of them have their experience, their talent and their ambition. Today a group of 20 of them visited the High Tech Campus. All looking for new contacts, a network and, hopefully, a job at a certain point in time.
For most of them it was the first time they visited the campus, so no real contracts could be signed yet. But the experience was great for all of them. It was good to get to know some of these starting companies, like Bambi Medical and Usono.
Eindhoven is a great place for business. In fact, it is greater than most people in other countries would know. Eindhoven and the Netherlands should do much more about advertising themselves. Many places in the world are far better known, but far less experienced.
It was impressive to see all those people working at the Campus. The tour was very well organised and it was good to see what’s going on at the High Tech Campus. These startups should get more attention from all over the world.
In short, the visit to High Tech Campus was very valuable. It brought us a little closer to a real job. And who knows, this will be at the High tech Campus.
