After ten editions, ‘Bliksem en Donderdag’ – “a Thursday enlightening event” – will be ended. The very last performance of this event will take place on 3 May.
‘Bliksem en Donderdag’ – Lightning and Thursday – is about inspiration, interaction, connection and acceleration. On this stage, makers, thinkers, doers and dreamers are given the opportunity to share, test and accelerate their ideas. VPRO Medialab took the initiative and started working with TU/e, Baltan Laboratories, and High Tech Campus. In 10 editions, 80 pitchers, 20 experts, and 1,000 visitors passed by. Due to the departure of VPRO Medialab, however, it stops there.
Nevertheless, VPRO Medialab sees the tenth edition mainly as an anniversary, which will be celebrated with bubbles, but also with Muppets (the commenting experts) and pitchers from previous editions. What is the current state of affairs with regard to the projects that they pitched at the time? What did lightning and Thursday mean for their concept? And what are they doing now?
