Three prizes in a row for the Eindhoven housing foundation ‘thuis in Eindhoven. The corporation recently became the winner of the “Most Sustainable Housing Corporation” prize of the Sustainable Building Awards 2018. It also became known that the homeownership of ‘thuis already has an energy label B on average, whereas this is only the target for 2021 in the Netherlands. And during the Best Employers Event in Amsterdam on 6 February, it also became known that ‘thuis has been voted the best employer in the housing corporation sector in 2017-1018.

“We’re filled with pride”, says Luc Severijnen, director of ‘thuis about the Sustainable Building Award (Duurzaam Bouwen Award). “We were already happy with the nomination, but that we won the prize is absolutely fantastic. Together with our tenants, stakeholders, and partners, we are committed to a world in which people can live together in a sustainable way, according to the principles of The Natural Step. This prize is a crown on our commitment. It confirms that we are doing the right things. On the other hand, we are well aware that we still have lots of work to do.”

‘thuis is renting out over 10,000 homes in the municipalities of Best, Son en Breugel, Eindhoven, Veldhoven, and Waalre. “Our focus is on providing sustainable, affordable housing”, says the housing foundation. “For sustainability, we work according to the 4 principles of The Natural Step.”
