Jalila Essaidi has won the second prize in the Chivas Venture with her Mestic concept. The founder of BioArtLab, located at the Philips fruit gardens on the Oirschotsedijk in Eindhoven, won 200,000 euro.
Mestic converts cow manure waste into biotextiles, plastic, and paper. Mestic’s patented technology aims to solve the excessive manure problem while at the same time producing new sustainable products – especially for the fashion industry. During the final one of Mestic’s creations was on stage.
Essaidi: “Mestic is tackling two problems with a single solution: helping to solve the global manure problem and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by creating new sustainable and local sources of raw materials.
