The Dutch company BeefyGreen has won the Enterprise Network Award 2021. BeefyGreen makes meat substitute products. The company received the award in the ‘Stepping Ahead’ category. This visionary company demonstrated the best example of delivering positive results, focusing on digitalization, sustainability and innovation. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), parent organization of Enterprise Europe Network, also successfully advised BeefyGreen to expand its presence to other European markets.

Thanks to the Network’s international contacts in the agri-food sector, the company has succeeded in distributing sustainable meat substitutes and half-meat half-vegetarian products abroad, thereby helping to make the food chain more sustainable in the rest of Europe.

The Award winners were announced at the annual Network event in Stuttgart today, October 1, by the European Commission and the European Innovation Council and SME Executive Agency (EISMEA).

The award recognizes and rewards creative entrepreneurs, especially those pursuing digital and sustainable ambitions who are making the most out of opportunities in the European Union’s free market by using Enterprise Europe Network’s services and support.

The finalists included start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) working in a variety of sectors, from the textile and fashion industry to robotics, pharmaceuticals, the agri-food sector, wastewater treatment and advanced medical and laser technology.

Awards in the other categories went to Nuvisan, a French pharmaceutical company, and Italian biomedical company UBT SRL (Umbria Bioengineering Technologies). Nuvisan secured funding to expand laboratories due to this, and UBT SRL was able to launch their products internationally thanks to the Network.
