The Maritime Equipment Technology Institute of the Jiangsu University of Science & Technology has chosen Additive Industries’ 3D metal printing technology for their production of LNG heat exchangers. The deal, Additive Industries’ first order in China, could be made on the second day of the 7th annual Additive World Conference in Eindhoven. Additive Industries won the tender and will help the institute to accelerate production of heat exchangers for Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) applications.

“We are proud to have sold the first system into China as this supports our expansion in the Asia Pacific region”, said Mike Goh, General Manager of Additive Industries Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. Goh says Additive Industries will support the Institute through its recently opened regional Process & Application Development Centre in Singapore.

The deal with the Chinese follows the decision to appoint Sinsun-Tech Corporation Ltd as Additive Industries’ local agent. Wang Jun, General Manager of Sinsun-Tech says “this is a fast and important step to enter the Chinese market with dedicated industrial additive manufacturing technology for series production. The high productivity of the system, as well as the full automation, will allow our customer to improve its business case.”
