Finally, it’s official: Additive Industries will move from Strijp-S to Strijp-T next month. In recent months, Additive has built a brand new factory in what was once the place for the development of new Philips products. At this new location, the company will merge its headquarters with the development activities, assembly of the 3D metal printing systems and testing.

These activities are currently spread over two locations in Eindhoven. The move offers the rapidly growing Additive Industries team ample room for further growth: the total new surface area is about seven times larger than all current facilities combined. Last year, Additive Industries presented its ambition to grow into a top 3 position in the industrial 3D metal print market in 2022.

The location has a rich history of the manufacturing industry. In addition to Philips, other major Eindhoven companies such as ASML and FEI (now part of Thermo Fisher) were established here in their early years.

After the renovation, the building is “completely sustainable”, as CEO Daan Kersten says. “It thus meets the highest energy-saving requirements and offers the best working environment for the Additive Industries teams. We are proud to return to an inspiring example of industrial heritage where we have preserved the original architecture and combined it with a touch of modernity. This makes it a wonderful new home for us.”

The official opening is scheduled for after the summer holidays.
